... life changing

- New partnership to tackle addictions

Introducing LFTW's NEW Partnership Training Scheme

LFTW has been working for over 40 years in the field of addictions and has been privileged to see many hundreds of lives totally changed through God’s love and power.  Now through our unique training we seek to equip local churches to do this work in their own communities.  With around 40% of the UK population affected directly or indirectly by addictions this is a big challenge.

The PTS involves LFTW in providing a specific addictions training and support package to equip a church (or group of churches) working with addicts and/or their families. The church in its turn makes a monthly donation to LFTW for a minimum period of two years, as shown in the example below.  LFTW will use this money to help fund training development to ensure that all future training continues to not only meet government guidelines but also maintains our clear Christian distinctive.

The Challenge We Face ...

The Government expects those working in the field of addictions to be able to demonstrate that they are competent to care for vulnerable people.  LFTW is rising to meet this challenge through a comprehensive addictions training development programme.

PTS Example

The local church makes a donation of , for example,  £75 per month to LFTW for 24 months.  In return, during that period, LFTW will provide up to four one-day training events for small groups of key workers, or the wider congregation, depending on the local need.

LFTW will also provide two support visits from our team to assess training needs and help with the feasibility, setting up, evaluation and running of an addictions project.

Alternative programmes can be put together for smaller (minimum £50 pcm) or larger donations.  Also, if the church sees the need to send some of its people on our University Certificate Course in Substance Misuse Care and Counselling, a discount will be available depending on the number of students involved.
